whisper in the silence

Short Story: “The Silent Note”

Ella sat on the park bench, the city humming around her, yet she felt invisible. Messages from friends went unanswered, deadlines loomed, and the world moved on without pause.

Her phone buzzed—an old voice note she had forgotten. The voice was her late grandmother’s.

"Remember, child, courage is not loud. It whispers inside when no one is listening."

Tears blurred her vision. She realized that in all her running, she had forgotten to listen to the whispers of her own heart.

For the first time in months, she sat quietly, letting the breeze brush her face, letting memories and courage meet in the stillness. She didn’t need to prove anything today. She just needed to feel alive.

In that moment, Ella understood: the world may never pause, but the heart always finds its rhythm.

Poem: “Echoes of Today”

The city roars, yet I hear silence,
Amid flashing screens and urgent calls.

The rain taps secrets on the window,
Each drop a story, each puddle a pause.

Footsteps hurry, dreams collide,
But inside, a quiet tide rises.

Not all battles are fought out loud,
Some are whispers, gentle, proud.

So I write, I breathe, I let it be,
In ink, my soul finds its decree.
